Knowledge
Rooted in the Qur'an and Sunnah, we pursue knowledge that uplifts minds and transforms lives.
we are setting up not just a place for prayers, but rather a community and education center for all. With your help inshAllah this vision will become a reality very soon..
We are a small, vibrant community in Moncton, NB, with a diverse demographic. As the Muslim community continued to expand, the need for a masjid for our future generations became urgent. With the help of Allah Ta'ala and community support, we successfully purchased a Church located at 229 McLaughlin Dr. for $415,000 on March 11, 2022, using an interest-free loan (Qardh Hasana).
We urgently seek your support to help repay our interest-free loan (Qardh Hasana). Your contributions will play a vital role in ensuring the Masjid remains a debt-free sanctuary for current and future generations. JazakAllah Khair for your generosity!
Since opening in April 2022, Masjid Yusuf has experienced remarkable progress. Alhamdulillah, we now hold daily salah, attracting around 50 worshippers, and our congregation is growing rapidly. Our Jumu'ah service has expanded to over 200 participants, with some even praying outside! To accommodate this growth, we've introduced a second Jumu'ah service, featuring a talk in French for our French-speaking community.
Additionally, over 75 individuals have embraced Islam since our opening, all by the grace of Allah Ta'ala!
Imam Dawud conducts classes throughout the week to educate and nurture the faith of our growing community while also guiding new converts. Additionally, we are in the process of establishing evening classes (Maktab) for children, which will further enrich and strengthen our future generations, enhancing the spiritual and educational landscape of our community.
We are not just setting up a place to pray, Masjid Yūsuf will be an education hub and community center for all. With your help and support, this vision will quickly become a reality.
Our mission is to build a Masjid modeled after the Masjid of the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ in Madinah, a place that nurtures faith, knowledge, and character. Just as the Prophet's Masjid ﷺ was the heart of guidance for his companions, we aim to establish a house of Allah that inspires hearts, uplifts minds, and brings the community together in worship and service.
At its core, our Masjid will be a center of teaching and learning, where the Qur'an and Sunnah are taught with clarity and wisdom, and where people of all ages can grow in knowledge and spirituality. It will be a place of daʿwah and outreach, inviting others to the beauty of Islam with compassion, patience, and wisdom. It will also serve as a hub of community service, where the needs of the poor, the vulnerable, and the wider society are met with care, dignity, and mercy.
We strive to revive the spirit of the Prophet's Masjid ﷺ, not only as a building, but as a living model of faith in action. Our goal is that those who attend this Masjid become people of sincerity, knowledge, service, and brotherhood, resembling the noble companions who once filled the Prophet's Masjid ﷺ with light and left a legacy for us to emulate.
The Noble Prophet ﷺ said: "The best of people are those who are the most beneficial to people."[At-Tabrānī]
Rooted in the Qur'an and Sunnah, we pursue knowledge that uplifts minds and transforms lives.
Cultivating hearts through remembrance, reflection, and sincere connection with Allah.
Building a welcoming family of believers united by faith, compassion, and mutual care.
Serving creation for the sake of the Creator, extending mercy, guidance, and support to all who are in need.
Imam Dawūd embraced Islam about two decades ago after a perilous journey to find truth. Coming from a life once centered on music, partying, and the emptiness of drugs and alcohol, he discovered in Islam the light, discipline, and purpose he had been longing for. His conversion marked the beginning of a lifelong mission: to learn, live, and share the faith with sincerity.
Following his acceptance of Islam, Imam Dawūd dedicated himself to serious study of the sacred sciences under the guidance of traditional scholars. Over the course of more than fifteen years, he pursued formal education at an Islamic seminary, completed the memorization of the Qur'an, and trained in the foundational disciplines of the religion. His teachers not only equipped him with knowledge, but also with the responsibility of carrying the message forward with wisdom and care.
By the consultation of his Shaykh, Imam Dawūd relocated to Moncton, New Brunswick, where he led the effort to purchase a former church and transform it into Masjid Yusuf. Since its establishment, the Masjid has become a vibrant center of worship, learning, and community service. Under his leadership, the Masjid has witnessed nearly one hundred people embrace Islam, and continues to be a place where hearts are guided and lives are changed.
Beyond the pulpit, Imam Dawūd delivers inspiring Jumuʿah sermons, teaches students locally and online, and mentors individuals seeking to strengthen their faith. His work extends to new educational initiatives, including online platforms that make authentic Islamic learning more accessible.
Through all his efforts, Imam Dawūd remains committed to reviving the model of the Prophet's Masjid ﷺ, a place of worship, knowledge, community, and daʿwah. His goal is not only to build a Masjid, but to nurture a generation of believers who embody sincerity, knowledge, and service to others.

وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ قَوْلًا مِمَّنْ دَعَا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا وَقَالَ إِنَّنِي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
